The S-10 is the proven workhorse for general industrial applications with outstanding availability and robust performance. The S-20 is the premium platform for demanding applications — it adds three accuracy classes (including ≤±0.125% BFSL), selectable calibration temperatures (+4/+40/+60/+80°C), wider range (to 1600 bar), more connection types (15+), higher IP (IP6K9K), special media versions (oxygen, hydrogen, food), and 100 million load cycle service life. For standard machine building, hydraulics, and chemical industry applications, the S-10 is the right choice; for critical applications requiring maximum accuracy and special media, specify the S-20.

The ratiometric output (DC 0.5–4.5V, supply DC 4.5–5.5V) produces an output voltage that is proportional to the supply voltage — so if the supply changes, the output scales proportionally. This eliminates supply voltage regulation errors in microcontroller and embedded systems where both the transmitter and the ADC input share the same 5V supply. It is specified for mobile machinery (construction equipment, agricultural machines, mining vehicles), OEM sensor integration, and embedded control systems. Settling time is ≤2ms for this output at ranges below 400 mbar/10 psi.

The special narrow-span absolute pressure range 0.8–1.2 bar abs (overpressure limit 5 bar) is specifically designed for atmospheric and barometric pressure measurement. Unlike a gauge pressure transmitter that measures relative to ambient, this range measures the absolute atmospheric pressure — useful for: weather station integration, altitude and elevation measurement, HVAC duct pressure balancing, building automation and BMS pressure reference, altitude-compensated combustion control, and any application requiring precise ambient pressure data.

For measuring ranges ≤25 bar relative, a synthetic oil fills the space between the sensing diaphragm and the measuring element — the oil transmits pressure gently and provides a degree of protection. At ranges above 25 bar, the pressure forces involved are large enough that a dry measuring cell (direct mechanical contact between process and measuring element) is structurally more reliable, less prone to leakage risk at high pressure, and eliminates concerns about oil contamination of the process in sensitive applications. This is standard practice in industrial transmitter design at higher pressure ranges.

Standard: medium –30 to +100°C; ambient –20 to +80°C; storage –40 to +100°C. Extended option: medium –40 to +125°C (ambient remains –20 to +80°C). The extended option is required for: cryogenic or very cold media (below –30°C), high-temperature chemical reactions (above +100°C up to +125°C), outdoor winter installations in extreme cold climates, and applications where process fluid temperature may occasionally spike to +125°C during start-up or upset conditions.

The inverse (reverse) 20–4mA output provides 20mA at zero pressure and decreases to 4mA at full scale — the opposite of the standard 4–20mA. Use cases include: safety instrumented systems (SIS) where a high signal represents safe (low pressure) and low signal represents alarm (high pressure — fail-to-energize logic); legacy DCS configurations wired for a decreasing signal; valve positioners requiring an inverse pressure signal; and applications where an increasing fault signal is safer than a decreasing one (e.g. pressure relief valve control).

Yes — for all electrical connection versions except the IP68 'not-adjustable' cable outlet. The S-10 has internal potentiometers accessible once the electrical connection housing is opened: zero point adjustment ±5% of span, span adjustment ±5% of span. This allows correction of installation-specific offsets (e.g. head pressure from liquid column above the transmitter) and span trim to match a specific control range. The IP68 'adjustable' cable outlet version uniquely provides both IP68 submersion protection AND retained potentiometer access — useful for outdoor or wash-down rated installations where field calibration is still required.
