About The Product
What Is the WIKA A-10 Pressure Transmitter?
The WIKA Model A-10 is a compact electronic pressure transmitter purpose-built for general industrial applications where reliable performance, global certification, and cost efficiency must all be achieved together. It converts process pressure into a standard analogue electrical output for direct integration with PLCs, machine controllers, OEM equipment, and panel instrumentation.
WIKA's stated design philosophy for the A-10 centers on three pillars: it is "not only notable for its compact design, but it also offers excellent quality at an extremely competitive price." Unlike many low-cost alternatives in the Indian market, the A-10 carries genuine international certification — cULus for North America and EAC for the Eurasian Economic Community — built in as standard, with optional DNV GL approval for shipbuilding and offshore applications.
With continuous measuring ranges from 0–0.05 bar to 0–1000 bar, user-selectable non-linearity (0.25% or 0.5%), six output signal options, and an extensive process connection catalogue covering virtually every global thread standard, the A-10 is engineered as the universal, drop-in pressure transmitter for OEMs and plant engineers working across multiple geographies and standards.

Frequently Asked Questions — WIKA A-10 Pressure Transmitter
20 expert answers for engineers, OEM integrators, and procurement managers — structured for Google Search, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.
The WIKA A-10 is a compact, cost-effective electronic pressure transmitter for general industrial applications. WIKA describes it as offering "excellent quality at an extremely competitive price" — combining genuine German manufacturing with worldwide cULus and EAC certification as standard. At roughly 80g, it is among the most compact pressure transmitters WIKA offers, with measuring ranges from 0–0.05 bar to 0–1000 bar, selectable non-linearity (0.25% or 0.5%), and a free test protocol with every unit. It is purpose-built for machine building, shipbuilding, measurement and control technology, hydraulics/pneumatics, and pumps/compressors.
Gauge pressure: 0–0.05 bar to 0–1000 bar [0–1 to 0–15,000 psi], plus inWC ranges 0–20 to 0–400. Absolute pressure: 0–0.1 to 0–25 bar abs [0–5 to 0–300 psi abs], plus inWC abs ranges. Vacuum and compound: from –0.025/+0.025 bar to –1/+24 bar; –1/0 to –30 inHg/+300 psi; –10/+10 to –250/0 inWC. Available in seven units: bar, psi, inWC, mbar, kg/cm², MPa, kPa. Other measuring ranges available on request.
Non-linearity per BFSL (Best Fit Straight Line) per IEC 61298-2: the standard option is ≤±0.5% of span across all ranges; the improved option is ≤±0.25% of span but only available for measuring ranges >0.1 bar [>1.45 psi], and not possible with the DC 0–5V output signal. The resulting "max measured error" (the true accuracy figure, including hysteresis and zero offset) scales by range: e.g. for ranges ≥0.6 bar, max error is ≤±1% (standard) vs ≤±0.5% (option). A free test protocol — 3 measuring points for 0.5%, 5 measuring points for 0.25% — documents actual manufacturing data for each unit.
4–20mA (2-wire, DC 8–30V or 8–35V); DC 0–10V (3-wire, DC 14–30V or 14–35V — requires the highest supply voltage); DC 0–5V (3-wire, not possible with ≤0.1 bar ranges or 0.25% non-linearity); DC 1–5V (3-wire); DC 0.5–4.5V (3-wire); DC 0.5–4.5V ratiometric (3-wire, DC 5V ±10% supply, no reverse polarity protection — for OEM/embedded use). Settling time is <1ms for ranges ≥0.4 bar and <1 minute for smaller ranges. Other output signals available on request.
An extensive global thread catalogue: G⅛B–G½B (EN 837, up to 1000 bar); G¼A and G½A (DIN EN ISO 1179-2); M14×1.5 (DIN EN ISO 9974-2); ⅛NPT–½NPT including female (ANSI/ASME B1.20.1); M20×1.5 (DIN 16288); R¼/R⅜/R½ (ISO 7); PT¼/PT⅜/PT½ (KS — common in Korea/Asia); 7/16-20 UNF O-ring Boss (SAE J514 E — automotive/mobile hydraulics); and a 100 bar flange connection. This breadth makes the A-10 adaptable to virtually any plant or OEM equipment specification worldwide.
Angular connector DIN 175301-803 A (IP65, PG9/PG11/PG13.5 mating connector or moulded cable); Angular connector DIN 175301-803 C (IP65, more compact form); Circular connector M12×1 4-pin (IP67, straight or angled moulded cable); Cable outlet unshielded (IP67); OEM cable outlet unshielded (IP67, rated to max 90°C). Important: PG13.5 gland is NOT feasible with cULus approval, and the DIN 175301-803 C connector is NOT permissible if DNV GL approval is required — choose DIN A, M12, or cable outlet instead for marine certification.
The A-10 is WIKA's compact, value-tier transmitter — smaller (~80g vs ~200g), with worldwide cULus + EAC certification built in as standard, and a simpler accuracy structure. The S-10 ("high-quality") offers significantly higher mechanical robustness — 1000g shock resistance vs 500g for A-10, 20g vibration vs 10g standard for A-10 — plus a broader output signal set including the inverse 20–4mA signal. Choose A-10 when compact size, global certification, and price are the priorities (e.g. OEM export projects); choose S-10 when maximum shock/vibration resistance is critical (e.g. heavy machinery, presses, vibrating equipment).
The A-10 is the compact, cost-effective, globally-certified transmitter for general industrial and OEM use. The S-20 is WIKA's premium platform for demanding applications — offering three accuracy classes down to 0.125% BFSL, selectable factory calibration temperatures (+4/+40/+60/+80°C), IP6K9K and IP68 protection, special media versions (oxygen, hydrogen, food-grade), and measuring ranges to 1600 bar. For standard machine building, shipbuilding, and budget-conscious OEM applications, A-10 delivers excellent value; for critical process control, harsh environments, or special media, S-20 is the right specification.
Yes — shipbuilding is one of WIKA's five listed applications for the A-10, and optional DNV GL approval is available. Two important restrictions apply: (1) DNV GL approval is not available for measuring ranges below 0.6 bar [8.7 psi]; (2) DNV GL approval is not available for the extended medium temperature range of –40 to +100°C. Also, when DNV GL approval is required, the DIN 175301-803 C electrical connector cannot be used — specify DIN 175301-803 A, M12×1, or a cable outlet version instead.
Wetted parts: stainless steel 316L for measuring ranges below 10 bar [150 psi] and absolute ranges up to 25 bar [400 psi]; stainless steel 316L combined with PH (precipitation-hardening) grade steel for ranges 10 bar and above — the higher-strength PH steel handles the increased mechanical stress of high-pressure sensing. Materials in contact with the environment (non-wetted): stainless steel 316L, HNBR, PA, and PBT. Pressure transmission medium: synthetic oil for ranges below 10 bar (and ≤25 bar abs); a dry measuring cell with no oil for ranges 10 bar and above.
Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6: 10g standard; 20g available on request (only for ambient temperature ≥–30°C). Shock resistance per IEC 60068-2-27: 500g for operation at or above –30°C; 100g for operation below –30°C. Note for DNV GL-approved units: with measuring range 0–0.6 bar, 20g vibration is only feasible at 1% accuracy; and 20g vibration with GL approval is only available for ranges above 1 bar.
Three tiers depending on output signal: Standard (base configuration): medium and ambient 0 to +80°C. With voltage output signal: medium and ambient extend to –30 to +100°C. With current output (4–20mA) signal: medium and ambient extend further to –40 to +100°C (with cULus approval, minimum is –30°C; this range requires DC 8–30V supply only, and the installation must be housed/protected from condensation). Storage temperature for all versions: –40 to +70°C.
The ratiometric output (DC 0.5–4.5V, supply DC 5V ±10%, load >10kΩ) produces an output that scales proportionally with the supply voltage rather than referencing a fixed internal voltage. This is the preferred choice for OEM integration and embedded systems where the transmitter and a microcontroller's ADC share the same regulated 5V supply rail — common in mobile equipment, compact machine controllers, and integrated sensor modules. Important: unlike the other output signals, the ratiometric output has NO reverse polarity protection, so correct wiring is essential during installation and commissioning.
Included in the scope of delivery (no extra cost): CE — EU Declaration of Conformity covering the EMC Directive (EN 61326, Group 1, Class B), Pressure Equipment Directive, and RoHS Directive; EAC — Eurasian Economic Community EMC directive (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan); UL/cULus — safety certification for the USA and Canada. This combination of three major global certifications as standard, at the A-10's competitive price point, is a key differentiator versus generic alternatives.
GOST (Russia metrology); KazInMetr + MTSCHS (Kazakhstan metrology and commissioning permission); BelGIM (Belarus metrology); UkrSEPRO (Ukraine metrology); Uzstandard (Uzbekistan metrology); DNV GL (ships/shipbuilding/offshore — with restrictions noted above); and CRN (Canada — electrical safety and overpressure registration). These can be added per project requirement at the time of ordering. Contact Zebco Engineering to confirm lead time and availability for any specific optional approval.
Service life: 100 million load cycles for measuring ranges >0.1 bar [>1.45 psi] up to 600 bar; 10 million load cycles for ranges ≥600 bar [≥8,700 psi] or ≤0.1 bar [≤1.45 psi]. Long-term drift per IEC 61298-2: ≤±0.1% of span for ranges >0.4 bar; ≤±0.2% for ranges ≤0.4 bar; ≤±0.5% for ranges ≤0.1 bar. MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) is greater than 100 years per WIKA's published safety-related characteristic values — confirming the long-term reliability typically expected from genuine WIKA instrumentation despite the competitive price.
Sealing choice depends on process media compatibility and temperature: NBR (general-purpose, –30 to +100°C); FPM/FKM (broader chemical resistance, –20 to +100°C); EPDM (steam and polar fluid resistance, widest range –40 to +100°C); copper (metal-to-metal seal for EN 837 connections, –40 to +100°C); stainless steel (for EN 837/M20×1.5, corrosion resistance, –40 to +100°C). EN 837 threaded connections (G⅛–G½B) typically use copper or stainless steel; DIN ISO 1179-2 and ISO 9974-2 connections (G¼A, G½A, M14×1.5) use elastomeric O-rings in NBR, FPM/FKM, or EPDM.
Mating connectors: DIN 175301-803 A (gland PG9/PG11/PG13.5, or with 2m/5m cable, or ½NPT conduit adapter); DIN 175301-803 C (gland PG7, or with 2m/5m cable — note: not permissible with GL approval); M12×1 4-pin straight or angled (without cable, or with 2m/5m cable). Process connection seal kits available in copper, stainless steel, NBR, FPM/FKM, and EPDM for all major thread types. Important: WIKA states that only the listed accessories should be used, as substituting non-listed parts could lead to loss of approval validity.
Per WIKA's official ordering structure: Model (A-10) / Non-linearity (0.25% or 0.5%) / Measuring range (type, value, unit) / Process connection (thread standard + size) / Sealing material / Permissible medium temperature range / Output signal / Supply voltage / Electrical connection type / Certificates (if required) / Approvals (cULus and EAC standard; add GOST, DNV GL, CRN etc. as needed). Zebco Engineering can guide you through this complete configuration to ensure the correct part is ordered the first time.
