1. VALVE BODY | The butterfly valve body is made from carbon or stainless steel, with options for various other CRA materials to suit specific needs. For demanding services and larger valve sizes, the valve can be internally lined or fully cladded instead of using solid CRA. The internal design is optimized to reduce pressure losses, and the basic dimensions (face-to-face and wall thickness) comply with API 609 and ISO 5752 standards. In Bahrain, the body can be wafer, wafer LUG, flanged, or buttweld style, with connection types available as per ASME B 16.5 RF, RTJ, or BW end, as well as hub connections. |

2. SEAT INSERT | The seat insert can be customized for different service conditions, with options like plastic (PTFE/PEEK/PA/...) or laminated graphite/metallic inserts for metal-to-metal seating. Positioned in the body for better sealing, it works in expansion only. For wafer-style valves, the insert is on the disc. The triple eccentric seating geometry ensures optimal tightness and performance, making it ideal for demanding industrial applications. |
3. DISC | The disc is the key component of the trim, enabling fluid control and providing tight shutoff capability. It is made from forged or cast steel or CRA for diameters up to 12”, and cast steel for larger sizes. Its shape is optimized to minimize turbulence and is supported by a spring in the closed position. Each component undergoes FEM-FEA analysis to ensure the uniform delivery of seating torque and maximum rigidity in both seating directions. |
4. STEM | The valve operates through stem rotation, which absorbs pressure thrust and enhances the disc stiffness. The stem is connected to the disc using non-shear pins, which increase torsional resistance and prevent torque from being transmitted through the shear resistance of the pins. |
5. STEAM SEAL | The stem is sealed with an O-ring arrangement for standard temperature applications and mild environments. For low torque demands or cryogenic services, an energized lip seal is used. In high-temperature, fire-safe designs, or when a stuffing box is preferred, graphite packing is provided, ensuring top-tier FE qualifications to minimize fluid losses. |
6. OPERATOR | The quarter turn operators are worm type gearboxes. The valve can be easily interfaced with electric or linear actuators through standard ISO5211 flange. |
